The current City Council majority has shown a strong disregard for the legitimate concerns of community residents regarding unnecessary expenses, environmental issues, land developments and working family issues. I will listen to the community and seek to make the best informed decisions possible.
West Covina already has great staff and city services . I would like to work to maintain and enhance wherever possible, in particular services for working families, youth and our seniors.
This was an unwise idea from the start. Our City government already wasted funds unnecessarily on this. We will work to undo and continue to work with the County and State and save our homeowners any additional expenses.
There is an opportunity for our City to make sound decisions with the BKK landfill site with recent developments made by the State of California and some of the companies that were responsible for the contamination there. As much abatement as possible of the hazardous materials should be made. I do not believe it would be prudent for any land up there to be developed for a hotel.
We will work to make sure that West Covina remains a vibrant community where the children of current residents could also one day be homeowners here as well as any other families who wish to make West Covina their home. We also need to support efforts that bring and maintain good jobs in our city in particular union jobs.
We need to maintain and improve our parks and recreational activities for our youth, families and seniors. We need to expand the use of go app to identify and remedy issues and ensure that there are no illegal activities or otherwise dangerous conditions for our park visitors.
