Dear Neighbor and Friend,
At this point in this election cycle you have seen the yard signs, mailers, online messages and likely been visited by one of the candidates or their volunteers. Many voters have submitted their ballots or have plans in place this weekend or on Tuesday, November 8th to vote. This is a very important election for West Covina because we have a real opportunity to bring in new leadership to our city that can steer us in a positive direction.
Overall this competition has shaped up as many others and I initially thought and now see that I am the only qualified candidate running for District 4 who can deliver a better and more positive path for our West Covina residents. For the last several weeks my campaign team of neighbors and friends have enjoyed visiting thousands of voters at their homes and discussing my dreams and goals for a better and brighter West Covina. We will continue to do so in the next few days.
Some folks, especially those supporting my opponents, have sought to malign my supporters as somehow being outsiders. These attacks are misplaced and inaccurate. West Covina is home to hundreds of proud union workers as well as families, seniors, and young people whom I have promised to work for and represent fairly in the city council if I am to be elected.
I am very thankful for this awesome opportunity and will always strive to humbly serve our wonderful West Covina community. Now let's go out and make sure that all of our friends and neighbors who are registered to vote, do so. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Daniel Luna

For nearly a decade West Covina has been my home as this is where my wife and I decided to raise our three children. As a proud husband and father I want to ensure that all families are able to be part of thriving and secure communities.
As the son of migrant farm workers in the Salinas Valley (Castroville), my parents instilled in me the belief that with hard work and an education anything is possible. I was the first in my family to graduate from high school and attend college. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Cruz and law degree from UC Hastings.

As an employment and labor attorney I learned the significance of being an effective advocate for workers. I am running for city council so that I can be a voice for all in our community. With my experience and dedication I will work to ensure everyone is represented in a fair and just manner.
I truly enjoy working with the community and supporting where ever possible. This could be in working with youth at their school during career days or helping fight our city when they decided to create a city ran public health department.
I will listen to the community and implement resolutions and ordinances with complete and accurate information.
I will be respectful to all community members and their view points and consider all when making decisions.
